The Show is coming up. “Jilliana Tokyo” dolly purses by Chiho Watanabe coming soon…

March 30th, 2008

The officially date of the Fashion show is…. (drumroll please…)

May 2nd!

Its our first show ever and Im very excited! Please come, everybody! Its for charity so youre doing something good for the community too! ;-)

You may have noticed our “News and Events” is finally updated! Yes, the issue of 944 Magazine was released a few weeks ago.  Its a very cute article too so check it out.

I wanted to get a picture of the new boutique from the outside. (Its looks small on the outside but when you enter- its a pretty big space. (Bigger than what we had downstairs.)

me-boutique.jpg  <— Just so you dont miss us… lol.. Disregard me in my sailor dress… Sorry for the quality ^_^

And we have more of these shirts in!!! My favorite Liz Lisa top is back by popular demand… available in store now!!

lizlisatop.jpg

Oooooooh… pretty… Last time we got these tops in- they sold out within a week. I even have one for myself. (I begged Dew to let me keep one! hehehe)

We have other stuff too but they are surprises for the fashion show. I really want to post them… Gorgeous new Tralala dresses… But then you wouldnt have any surprises at the show, would you!? You will just have to attend.

Now, finally I will introduce our new handbag designer!!!!!

CHIHO WATANABE!!! She is a very talented handbag designer/maker from Georgia- She makes the cutest little bags. We’re lucky enough to have her on board. (Round of applause!) Also, she is a dear friend of Dew and I. She makes the purses BY HAND so every bag is truly a work of art- an ORIGINAL. Not mass produced copies… Each little handbag is unique and cute…handcrafted…genuine kawaiiness. They will be unveiled at the fashion show!!!

Also, on a personal note…

Dew and I are going to JAPAN at the end of May/ beginning of July! So, I will take soooo many pictures for you so everyone can see the country I love, with me. Im excited!!!

xoxoxo

Now at Suite #311!!! HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

February 15th, 2008

We officially moved this weekend so if you visited our old downstairs location at suite #209B- You may have noticed our little sign posted in the door that we are in the process of moving up!! (literally…) We just finished the move yesterday and the new boutique is much bigger and nicer! I’m so excited to be open again and have pulled it all off in just a few days. Dew and I worked really hard getting it together. He had to rip out the carpet- install new flooring- and I moved  all the clothing up… mostly by hand!!  (phew!) But it’s done and it looks sooooo CUTE! Please check out the new location directly across from San Shi Go Japanese restaurant!!!!

Saturday was a crazzzzzy day. We completed our first photo shoot ever for 944 Magazine and it was SO MUCH FUN. (Yes, I’m even in some of the pictures…lol) Everyone was super sweet and laid back. We shot in our new botuque which is amazing because exactly one day before the boutique was pretty much a vacant concrete room! Ahhhh! I was worried it wouldnt be finished in time but all that working and lack of sleep must have paid off, right? Thank the godesses above!

Dew played photographer from the side with his little digi camera and he got some really cute shots of the models!  This is a sneak preview of what our photos will be like in the March issue of 944 Magazine. Of course, these pics our random pics- unedited with no background (or the green wall behind them… but it will look different in the mag!)p1001084.JPGp1001107.JPG

And Finally….

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!!!!!!

Dew and I are spending our v-day at the boutique tonight… This weekend after work we’ll go out to dinner. <3 Yay! It’s so coooold today! :( I wore a cute jean skirt and a PINK top in honor of the day and it just had to be chilly tonight! Yesterday I wore long pants and it was hot. I never watch the news for the weather. Oh well.  On an even more chilling note- last weekend I almost choked to death on a piece of TAKO (octopus)! Im dead serious. I felt I had to share that… you just never know… Thank the Goddesses above- I survived! Anyway, Im paranoid of hard or chewy food! lol… I only eat soft sushi now. Bring on the TORO!

Oh! All the new stuff came in!!!! AHHHHHHHH! But I’ve been busy setting the new boutique up this week that I havent had the chance to post online- trust me- THIS WEEKEND IT’LL BE UP! Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute Liz Lisa tops… One in particular I have my eye on… sheer… flowy… angelic… and it comes in 3 colors! Pink, White and Brown. Peak?

It’s just one of the many great fashions coming this weekend! You really need to see it in person though.

Take Care!

Jilliana Tokyo- the ORIGINAL brand coming soon…

January 28th, 2008

I have lots of exciting news!!! I don’t know if I should tell you now or wait till it happens… I decided to give you some hints- today I meet with Sayaka (a close designer friend of mine.) We are starting the first process of Jilliana Tokyo designs- we are starting the designing-planning stage of our new line!!! Yay!!! We should have our first sample pieces up soon- when that happens- I’ll post pics ASAP and I appreciate your feedback…

Speaking of feedback…

I loooooove the comments we are getting through our feedback form. I just KNEW there are lots of fans of Japanese fashion out there and we’ve been getting many requests to import certain brands. Keep them coming- we’ll do our best to get what you want.

I just finished ordering this weekend so within 1 week (hopefully) you’ll see ALL NEW fashions up!!! I have more cute dresses coming- ADORABLE spring coats- and lots of other cuuuuuute surprises. Not to mention- more Liz Lisa dresses- a new line called Spiga- also JI MAXX - … Lip Service and others… stay tuned, babydolls!

Wednesday I will be interviewed by 944 Magazine which is a fashion/celeb lifestyle mag serving areas like Orange County, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami etc etc… It’s an honor to be a new boutique and be recognized in such an awesome magazine like that! When I get more details- I’ll post.

And….we are participating in our first FASHION SHOW ever in Laguna Beach in April! More details coming soon… we strive to represent our original brand Jilliana Tokyo and showcase it in the show!!!! Yeeeeaaaahhhh… ;-) These past few weeks have been so much fun for me- to meet new people involved in the fashion industry in OC… but now its back to work for some serious serious planning! hehehe…

A local Laguna Beach model chose to wear fashion from our boutique in their show… and guess what happened? She won an AWARD! Yeah!!!!! ((pops the champagne bottle open)) Congrats to you and THANK YOU for representing our fashion! We look forward to April when we can represent WITH you!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3

A new year!

January 12th, 2008

Hi,

I know I’ve been quiet for awhile and I wish I could say I was on some glamorous trip… but that’s not so. I did have a LOT of fun over the holidays with friends and family. <3 <3 And many pictures to go along! (I’m having trouble getting the pics down to the right size though- there sooooooo big and they take up the whole page! Ahhhhh! But once I figure it out- or get Dew to cut them down to the right size- we’ll be good to go. )

Thank you to everyone that sent/gave Dew and I such lovely gifts!!!! My mama sent sooooo many presents in a big box for everyone! The box was so heavy and filled with presents and candy…. Sooooo sweeeet. Thank you, mama! <3 u. I also want to let Michiru know that we use the Teppanyaki grill like every single night!!!!!!!!!! I’m not just saying that either… We’re practically obsessed with that thing. Its so easy to do and very healthy always using fresh veggies- Once I learned how to eat from it without burning myself (I think I was overly anxious..) I became a pro. Now, its my new best friend.

Over the holidays we had a Xmas Eve party and all of our friends from Ga came to see us. So much fun to have Tomoko (Dew’s mama), Little Miss. Naomi and Keita, Mike-San and his family as well as Watanabe-san and his wife Chiho all together in our little apartment!!! Dew cooked a ham- I made eggs again (but forgot about them until the end of the night so they kinda sat in fridge instead…oooops.) We also had really great spinach and daikon salad from Chiho! Good foood- great gifts but most importantly——- we had fun.

I played tourist again and went to LA with Dew and Mike-sans family- We went to the Santa Monica pier and watched a gorgeous sunset- followed by a walk on Hollywood Blvd- and ended at Griffith Park - only to find that Griffith Park was closed so we turned on a residential street and rode up a hill to see the LA cityscape from a very very wealthy North Hollywood neighborhood- But the best part of the night was having dinner at San Shi Go Japanese restaurant in Newport Beach! I had the best time ever and we all stuffed ourselves with sushi! (If youre ever in the Newport Beach area- I recommend this restaurant even if you arent a sushi fan because their appetizers are really wonderful. If you dont like sushi (although I find it strange anyone could dislike it) try the baked seafood salad! It has an official name but I forgot what it’s called. Its a small cozy restaurant too so it’s not loud or overwhelming like a *certain* “Japanese” sushi restaurant is (cough _Mosun Sushi_ cough). Oh, now Im hungry so I better get back to business….

We had a busy December at Jilliana TOKYO too! We had the highest sells ever online (lol… even though we just opened our online boutique a few months ago…) and over the New Years we set forth a future business plan to expose JT to more people locally and online. You may see a few changes in the near future including our location and our products!!! (Don’t worry- we’ll still be in Village Fair Shoppes and still sell adorable clothing like Liz Lisa!) Very very soon we’ll get more stuff in and I promise you’ll love it.

Thanks to all those who bid on Ebay!!!! <3 I have listed a few more things this week at crazzzzzy low starting bids so you might just want to check it out.  Shop here and support JT so we can keep bringing you the best in Japanese fashions. Expect to find Japanese COSMETICS- SHOES- ACCESORIES in the upcoming months as well. Also, we will now primarily be getting clothes from JAPAN only since we always want to be associated with high QUALITY merchandise. Want to know the differece between JT and other asian online fashion boutiques? (We actually carry REAL Japanese brands- not just lookalikes. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there that sell clothing and market it under “japanese street fashion” but the quality doesnt live up to real Japanese fashion…. blah…. )

Next time I update- it wont be a month later… hahahaha…. I promise. Actually, Im going to post pictures of our Holidays fun for you as soon as I can find some way to edit them so one pic isnt the size of the whole screen… And Tako tooo!

Love,

xoxo Jilly xoxo

Inquiry Page and Sizes…

December 10th, 2007

Hello again!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I want to say a very very warm THANK YOU to all of those who made purchases through our online shop this weekend. I’m particulary impressed with the international response we are getting! I know international shipping costs can be a pain and I’m working on a way to help ease the cost… So look out for special coupon codes discounting shipping rates (domestic shipping including)!!

Just a reminder to all who send inquires to us through out Contact Page… Please be sure to put your FULL email address in. Recently, I have received questions that I can not send responses back to. :-( So, if anyone has sent a question and has not got a reply from me- go ahead and send another inquiry using your entire email address in the box. Thanks!

I want to explain a little more about our sizes. I touched on this in our FAQ’s section of the site but I feel I need to elaborate more. Im sure you notice our clothing is “FREE SIZE”.  Some items even run a bit on the small side especially Liz Lisa.  I do have items that are multiple sizes but do to a tech issue that is still being worked out- it has taken some time to get those items up. If youre in the OC area -youre welcome to come to our shop and purchase these items- If not, we will get those items up as soon as we possibly can. We’re currently working with sunshop to fix our options/inventory control. Since we are brand new… (online atleast) we are still working out some kinks. In time… it will be perfect… eventually!

As far as certain Japanese brands that are imported from Japan and only Japan- they are Free Size. If you were to go to Japan… walk into a Liz Lisa or Cecil Mcbee shop- you would notice their too- its one size. Its just how the Japanese young woman’s fashion market is. They run small because they are specifically designed for a smaller body-type. A lot of the clothing DOES stretch and contains elastic to fit… A lot of the measurements are measurements before stretching… The tops especially will fit a variety of sizes… the babydoll dresses definately fit many because its so loose and flowy. But some of the bottoms for Liz Lisa run small from size 0-4 even up to 6. Im working on getting in more cuuuute items that will fit a wider range of girls. Its difficult with Japanese fashion cause the manufacturers just dont make bigger sizes! I sincerely apologize to anyone that has wanted to order but we do not have their size available at this time. :-( But I WILL promise you this…

Get ready, girls… Im about to make another promise to myself (and to you!). My dream is to have a Jilliana TOKYO brand! Yep! And guess what? It’ll be just as cute as all the Japanese kawaii fashions in Tokyo (even cuter!) and it will be available in ALL sizes for ALL girls worldwide. So, if youre reading this- you’re the first to know out there. It will happen. I have recently befriended someone that I now consider a great friend. She made clothes for some of the most famous young woman’s boutiques in Harajuku. So maybe… just maybe… in the near future- you will see our brand.

Take Care…

I’m Back!!

December 8th, 2007

    I know it’s been awhile!

This week I went to Florida to see my family and take care of some important family business. (Sounds like the mafia but nothing quite that exciting.) But Im in Cali again! Yay!! Back to Laguna Beach, my shop, Dew, and Mr. Tako-Chan. (I promised a photo and I WILL have one up this weekend of him!) Seeing family again is refreshing- especially when its been a long time and youre all the way across the country. But next week my mama-in-law will be here all the way from Japan!!! Yay!!!

So what’s been going on? Im on EBAY. Yep, in an effort to drive more traffic to the site I have listed *select* merchandise on Ebay. Look me up under username “justcallmedolly” to get special discounted merchandise at a special Ebay price! Shipping is also discounted for Ebay winners!!

Once a week I have decided to spotlight one item. This week I choose a Liz Lisa item!

img_0248.jpg

This dress is unbelievably SOFT! It has the cutest white bow in the front as well. You can find it under “Liz Lisa” in the online shop.

Take Care everyone and Happy SHOPPING!

xoxo Jilly xoxo

Thank you to Candice.

November 28th, 2007

Thanks for designing this site and doing such a fab job, Ms. Candice. I have to say it’s really cute and we’re sooooo happy. Anybody out there need a really great website developer? Go to: ocwebdesigngirl.com !!! She’s the best!

We’re OPEN for business!

November 27th, 2007

Yes, today we officially opened for business! After delay after delay- we did it! Yay!!!! Now… have any ideas on how to get the word out?? Let me know!

Dew and I had a great Thanksgiving by the way. He made a Turkey (too big for two people though…lol) And I attempted to make deviled eggs and added WAY too much mayonaise and since we ran out of mustard I used Japanese mustard! (Its a bit spicier… Ok, really spicy!!) But it was fun. I kind of think making food is even more fun than eating it. Since, we have too much turkey left we’ve been eating turkey miso soup for the last few days but it’s pretty good- (You should try it with your leftovers!) We cant wait till next month when we have our visitors!!! (You know who you are!) Its going to be so much fun.

Ok, Take care all and shop shop shop.

Online Shop…

November 25th, 2007

Ok, I promised the shop would be up by now but we seem to be running into some technical difficulties. That’s life, right? Right when something is supposed to work- it doesn’t. But we’re doing everything we can to get it up and hopefully (crosses fingers) it does within a day or so. But on a happier note- I have been uploading products like crazzzy and you may notice lots of new things on a daily basis! (Im saving the best for last though! hahahaha… Particularly, the Liz Lisa Fall dresses we recently received.) Mr. Dew and I are scrambling like crazy but in the end it will be much worth it- if we dont pull each other’s hair out by then.
